Definition
Definition: clear story - a narrative or explanation that guides and informs readers and listeners
Strategy
The best strategies are excellent stories, working to convince, persuade and guide the listener. And stories can play their part in strategy, whether by casting customers or competitors in the role of characters, or by weaving the storyline around market dynamics and trends.
Structure
All successful stories follow a similar structure that can be a pattern for a new story
Initial situation - the first incident makes the story move. Conflict or Problem - goal which the main character of the story has to achieve Complication - obstacles which the main character has to overcome Climax - highest point of interest of the story Suspense - point of tension. It arouses the interest of the readers Resolution - what happens to the character after reaching/not reaching his goal Conclusion - the end result of the climaxSystems
Oral story telling uses repeated themes and phrases to increase memorability and a sense of structure, especially in long epics. Two of Homer's favourites from the Odyssey are "the wine dark sea" and "rosy fingered dawn". Rap singers use rhyme and rhythm to create commentaries on their experiences, or express views on current issues.
Style
There are as many styles as there are stories. Changing the style will fit a story for new audiences, or new situations. From poem to short story to novel. From novel to film to stage show - the message stays the same even as the medium changes.
People
People use stories to explain the world around them and to record the best and worst experiences. Capturing the stories employees tell about their organisation is a guide to what motivates them or holds them back.
